Barinder (Tony) Athwal, MD

Dr. Barinder “Tony”Athwal attended McGill University in Canada and received his medical degree from UMDNJ-New Jersey Medical School. He completed an internship in Internal Medicine and a three year Ophthalmology residency in 1986 at UMDNJ-New Jersey Medical School, where he was the Chief Resident.In 1986, he started private practice in TomsRiver.

Dr. Tony Athwal serves on the board of Ocean Eye Surgery Center and ClearVision Laser Center, and is a member of the New Jersey Academy of Ophthalmology, the New Jersey Medical Society, the Ocean County Medical Society and the American Academy of Facial Esthetics

Harjit (Harry) Athwal, MD

Dr. Harry Athwal attended CookCollege at RutgersUniversity in New Brunswick and graduated with a medical degree from RutgersMedicalSchool. He completed an internship in Internal Medicine and a three year Ophthalmology residency in 1990 at UMDNJ-NewJerseyMedicalSchool. He received additional training at the prestigious TulaneMedicalSchool in Louisiana, where he did a fellowship in Corneal and Refractive Surgery. He joined his brother in private practice in 1991.

Dr. Athwal is Board Certified by the American Board of Ophthalmology. He is a member of the American Academy of Ophthalmology, the New Jersey Academy of Ophthalmology, Medical Society of New Jersey, Ocean County Medical Society and the American Society of Cataract and Refractive Surgery.He also serves on the board of iMedicware - an electronic medical records company.

Sergio Peneiras, OD

Sergio Peneiras, OD completed undergraduate work with honors at Rutgers University. He is a graduate of the Pennsylvania College of Optometry, where he earned a Bachelors degree in Visual Science and a Doctrate of Optometry with honors.He is currently involved in the Monmouth Ocean County Society of Optometric Physicians and is a member of the American Academy of Optometry.
